The impact of TIVO forcing advertisers from TV and toward the InternetSubmitted by MapTheWay on January 10, 2005 - 12:36pm.
Now that I'm up to speed and enjoying/relishing TIVO for the past month I have a few comments (I just ordered a second TIVO for my Studio/Office). Since TIVO reports that 75% of commercials recorded on the device already are skipped by users, we know that advertisers will have to opt for new approaches and I think this means a forced path to the Internet. That sucks! Is anyone else out there concerned that advertisers are moving in mass from what is now considered broken TV, (mass interuptions, and poorly conceived or simply stupid commercials) and taking over the Internet (which is now really cool)? Google, Yahoo, can you guys help out here? Let me put that another way; Google, Yahoo, you guys need me to HELP YOU OUT HERE. Anyone from Google, Yahoo, Apple, call me, I'm available for you.
